Angel's Perch

If you know me, you know I only write about things I'm passionate about. Whether it's a great day I had, some idiots who find magical corn flakes, my friends and family, movies, or how much I love my wife, I don't usually blog just for the sake of blogging.

That being said, I want to let you in on something really cool my pal JT is involved in. It's a movie called Angel's Perch that he's written and is currently in the infancy stage of becoming a reality. Last year I was fortunate enough to read an early draft of the script, and can personally vouch for how amazing this film is going to be. It's well written and unfolds beautifully and...well...just trust me.

At this point, I was going to tell you more about it, but JT can do it much better than I can. Check out this video and then follow the link to the Angel's Perch kickstarter page.

For those of you who ever wondered why "they don't make 'em like they used to"... this is your chance to help remedy that.

Thanks for taking a look.

Crooks Are Getting Lazy....Eyed

Just ran across this article from a local news station:

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) - Dauphin County authorities have filed charges against two city men accused of shooting at police officers in an armed kidnapping in Harrisburg last week.

The article goes on to say that none of the officers were wounded.

Wow. To look at the guy on the left, you'd think he'd have dead-on accuracy. I don't know how he managed to miss.

And The Oscar Would Go To...

I've finally seen all 10 films nominated for a Best Picture Academy Award® for 2010. I'm not a voter, but I'm a movie buff, and here's how I'd order them from best to worst.

  1. Toy Story 3

  2. 127 Hours

  3. The King's Speech

  4. True Grit

  5. Black Swan

  6. The Fighter

  7. Winter's Bone

  8. The Social Network

  9. Inception

  10. The Kids Are All Right

This was a pretty good year for movies, and for the most part I enjoyed all (or almost all) of the nominated pictures. The ones ranked 1-3 could easily be interchanged; the same with 4-7.

8, 9, and 10 are pretty  much where they belong.

What about you? Which one would you place at the top?
